Creating a Vision Video with Heart — Our Work with Koorana
A Story Worth Telling
Some projects carry more weight. Not because they’re bigger, but because of who they serve. That’s what made our work with Koorana Child & Family Services so meaningful.
Koorana is a Sydney-based not-for-profit that’s supported children and families for nearly 50 years. Their work centres on inclusion—not as a program, but as the foundation of everything they do. Through play-based learning and integrated supports, they create environments where all children can thrive, regardless of ability.
The Brief: One Video, Two Purposes
Koorana first approached us to create a video for a fundraising lunch in New South Wales. The timeline was short, and the event was important.
But from the outset, we saw this as more than an event piece. It needed to hold up long after the lunch was over. It needed to explain Koorana’s model clearly, show real impact, and connect emotionally—with families, supporters, and potential partners.
Produced Remotely, Filmed Locally
While the filming happened onsite in Sydney, the creative direction, scripting, and planning were all led from our Melbourne studio. We worked closely with Koorana’s leadership and marketing team to shape the message, tone, and structure—ensuring it sounded like them, not us.
Meet Morgan — The Voice of the Video
Morgan Fitzpatrick, Koorana’s CEO, guided the story. In a walk-and-talk format, she moved through the space while speaking directly to camera—clear, calm, and deeply connected to the work.
She spoke openly about Koorana’s roots, their inclusion-first approach, and what it takes to create safe, responsive early learning environments. Her presence gave the video its tone: grounded, warm, and focused.
Chloe’s Story — Real Impact in Action
We also shared the story of Chloe, a young girl who faced challenges with speech, interaction, and behaviour. With support from Koorana’s team—including a speech pathologist, occupational therapist, and specialist teacher—she began to find her voice, connect with others, and build confidence.
Today, Chloe attends a mainstream kinder. Her story made the video real. It reminded viewers that inclusion isn’t just a value—it’s a practice with visible outcomes.
One Video, Ongoing Value
After the fundraiser, we re-edited the footage into a timeless version for broader use—website, social media, funding applications, and more. We removed event references and updated the call to action to speak to families, partners, and future supporters.
It’s now a flexible tool for outreach—built to last, not just launch.
Filming with Care
Filming in early learning environments requires trust. Every crew member held Working With Children Checks. We worked only with children who had active media permissions. And we followed the rhythms of the centre, not the other way around.
For us, that’s not a legal checkbox—it’s a non-negotiable part of how we work.
Why This Project Matters
This wasn’t just another job. It was a privilege to support a team doing work that often goes unseen.
Koorana creates space for children and families who don’t always get one. They meet each child where they’re at. And they model what real inclusion looks like—day in, day out.
To Morgan and the Koorana team: thank you for your trust. We’re proud to have helped tell your story.
